The Sky Is Mine | Midnight Solo Drive to Kurikoma Mountain π Japan’s Aut...
✨ “The Sky Is Mine” — a 2-track piano R&B jazz music piece — meets the breathtaking autumn wonderland of Mt. Kurikoma, famously called “The Carpet of the Gods” π✨
Located at the borders of Miyagi, Iwate, and Akita, Kurikoma Mountain is one of Japan’s earliest and most spectacular places to witness fall colors.
π₯ Adventure Story:
I started from the Gembeikei Road Station at night… and decided to drive 30 km alone through dark mountain roads to reach the Kurikoma parking before dawn. The journey was eerie and quiet — forest creatures, cemeteries, and chilling mountain silence — but I made it at 1 AM! By morning, the mountain unfolded its magical autumn tapestry.
π₯Ύ Hike Route: Chuo Trail (Iwakagamidaira Shuttle Bus – Round trip ¥500)
π Access: 6-hour solo road trip from home to Iwate (400 km)
π Best Season: Early to mid-October
This is Part 1 of my Kurikoma Mountain journey.
π Part 2: Top Area Hike
π Part 3: Gembikei Gorge
πΈ Watch the full visual story, feel the autumn breeze through R&B jazz, and join me on this unforgettable journey.
