Experience the rewarding summit journey of Mount Kurikoma (栗駒山) through this cinematic second part of my hike — where the beauty of Japan’s autumn truly begins to unfold.

🎵 Music: “Pieces of Me” — a smooth 2-track piano jazz that mirrors the calm, courage, and wonder of this mountaintop experience.

This part of the hike takes you to the upper and top sections — where nature reveals her masterpiece: the “Carpet of the Gods”, breathtaking autumn color gradations, and mystical clouds swirling right at your fingertips.

At 1,627m, the air chills, winds rush, and hikers from all 9 trails converge at the peak — all drawn to the same awe. Then, as black clouds roll in, I descend through mist and sunlight, grateful and fulfilled.

🍁 Hike Details (October 4, 2025):

Route: Chuo Trail (Iwakagamidaira to summit)
Difficulty: Easy to moderate
Duration: ~4 hours round trip (with many photography pauses)
Shuttle Bus: 500 yen roundtrip during peak season
Gear tip: Bring 2 hiking poles, good-grip shoes, and warm layers — the summit wind hits differently!

🏔 Mount Kurikoma — one of Japan’s 200 celebrated mountains — truly earns its title in autumn.
